Well, we arrived back from Michigan on Monday evening and what a weird day that was. Weather wise it hadn’t been too bad all the time we were in Michigan, one day was really lovely and sunny and warm but mostly it was gray and cold but thankfully not freezing.

However, just to make sure we weren’t lulled into a false sense of security we woke up Monday morning, the day of our flight back, to 10 inches of wet snow. It was so wet it had stuck to everything and it was still snowing, we had a 45 minute drive to the airport but we knew it would take at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours with the weather the way it was. No worries, we got to the airport with time to spare thank goodness, only to find the flight had been delayed by an hour and a half. Thankfully I had booked a flight with 2 1/2 hour layover in Atlanta! I’m trying to get the photo’s off Tim’s PC as it was really pretty.

But what’s really weird and wacky is while we are sitting there waiting for the plane to arrive from Atlanta we get a recorded call from Delta airlines warning us that the flight had been delayed……… and they couldn’t have called us 2 or 3 hours ago because………? It’s not like ours was the first flight out, they knew the knock on effects from the first late flight, talk about shutting the door after the horse has bolted.

Oh well we managed to get to Atlanta and luckily for us we made the next flight but a lot of the passengers didn’t I’m sure. We still got home a bit late but at least we did get here!

You know, sometimes life is just too bizarre for words, we got up this morning to find a clear tub with a lid on it sitting on the dining room table with a note on it: ‘DO NOT OPEN’ and a note beside it. Without touching the tub OR removing the lid we looked inside to see the biggest BLACK WIDOW spider I have ever seen! The body alone was over 1/2 inch long and 1/2 inch thick, biggest fattest body ever!

Apparently Jeanette found it next to MY car in the garage and decided to catch it to show us. You know there is some information I can live without and to be honest this is one of them, while fascinating it was still creepy and scary. Tim took a video of it which I posted below, he took photo’s too but I won’t gross anyone out by putting them here!

Here’s the video, watch to the end to hear some very appropriate music added by Tim!
