Well I think enough of you have seen the back and forth about my eye enough to know it’s a pain in the proverbial! Well, now it’s worse than that!!!!!!
I have to cancel my vacation to Costa Rica as my eye has taken a nose dive. Could someone please tell me how, when I have been on such high doses of meds that my eye has not only NOT calmed down but according to my specialist this morning I now have a “Geographical Dendritic Ulcer”? My eye has been steadily hurting more and more since I was last in to see him, the light hurts it, I have pain in the eye and all around and have had a couple of really sick headaches lately, now I know why.
Needless to say I now have to see him again on Friday and he has upped the meds again. Now I have to take 800mg of Acyclovir 5 times a day, a drop called Viroptic every 2 hours (I have been on this before and it REALLY hurts, after a couple of days the eye goes so red and sore it’s not even funny) and another drop, Zylet 2 times a day.
Because of the severity of the ulcer he wants to keep an eye on me (every pun intended) which means I have to see him twice a week which means no trip to Costa Rica! As you can imagine as soon as he told me why my eye was hurting so much I burst into tears, it just seems so unfair that it could be worse than the last time I saw him given the amount of meds I am taking. I am at my wits end.
Well I’ve gone on long enough, my eye has meant not going out on Wednesdays for our girls night out to the movies as I can’t stand the light from the screen, however, the good part is I can’t sit too long in front of the computer either so I go hide in my sewing room, see there’s a silver lining to every black cloud :o)
I’ve been able to spend more time making quilts and quilting with my longarm machine this year than I have in the last 4 years. Works for me!
My latest creation for one of the grandkids.
